AG 186: Gorilla Tracking – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Lake Bunyonyi – 5 days
Day 1: Depart for Bwindi National Park
An early start from Kampala after your Breakfast takes you southwest Uganda by road with your guide, cross the Equator, and then to Mbarara for Lunch and through Savannah grasslands to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The scenic drive through Kigezi Highlands known as the Switzerland of Uganda, banana plantations and heads of Ankole cattle take you to the Gorilla Sanctuary of Bwindi.
Overnight
Day 2: Gorilla Tracking
Have early morning breakfast and after a short briefing by the guides, proceed through the undergrowth and thick creepers of the dense rain forest for the Gorilla Tracking. Only a few of these Gentle giants have been habituated for humans to visit, making tracking of these elusive apes in their natural habitat both a privilege and an adventure. You will also have an opportunity to view other animals including primates, butterflies and birding activities. After 1 hour allowed with the giants, return to the lodge. Overnight
Day 3: Gorilla tracking - the second time
After an early morning African breakfast to give you the strength for a second tracking experience, re-enter the rain forest for a second day. Sitting with the most peaceful, rarest and endangered of all the apes, is a fascinating experience not to reckon with. Uganda's Bwindi National Park boasts a network of trails and hikes with observing these magnificent beasts up close are likely to be one of the expedition’s highlights. In case you have the afternoon free, have a guided village walk to nearby communities to see and experience the different aspects of Ugandan lives, cultures and lifestyles.

Day 4: Lake Bunyonyi
Depart early morning for Lake Bunyonyi, a place of scenic beauty, beautiful green hills, studded with small Islands and Birds. Spend the afternoon on the lake in a dugout canoe bird watching. Relax in the evening by the lakeside. Overnight
Day 5: Kampala
The day begins with an early breakfast and after breakfast return to Kampala at your own convenience. Lunch enroute
